Patty firmly believes that women's sexual health is GENERAL health and that it does not discriminate; it is universal.

Empowering Women's Health

The She+ Foundation, powered by Patty Brisben and formerly known as the Sexual Health Education Foundation, has raised $7.5 million to support groundbreaking research and educational initiatives to improve women's sexual health. Partnering with leading universities and research organizations, the foundation studies sexual dysfunction and disorders, providing critical information and resources to women.

Listening & Innovating

Patty knows that what built her legacy was largely due to her ability to listen to women's most intimate conversations. She+ Foundation aims to innovate the Women's Sexual Health arena. We want to facilitate necessary discussions and find solutions to provide women with relief in their most intimate and private lives.

Educating and Empowering

Patty believes in the power of education to effect change. In 2008, she authored a book offering vital sexual health information, relationship advice, and answers to frequently asked questions from her days as a Consultant.

In 2011, she collaborated with Dr. Keri Peterson on "Sexy Ever After: Intimacy Post-Cancer," an exclusive ebook addressing intimacy concerns for cancer survivors.

The She+ Foundation aims to make its website and programming a resource hub and a home where the community can find the right resources to answer their most intimate questions. We will combine our resources and highlight the great work of other organizations that align with the She+ mission.

Raising Awareness and Funds

Patty’s commitment to empowering women has established her as a respected expert in sexual health and relationships. Her insights have been featured on CNN, ABC’s The View, VH1, The New York Times, Forbes, Cosmopolitan, and Entrepreneur. The foundation’s job is to raise money, friends, and awareness of sexual health, taking away the shame and ensuring that all women’s needs are heard and celebrated.

Patty is immensely proud of the organization’s accomplishments over the past nineteen years and is excited to bring in even more support to find solutions. Through the She+ Foundation, Patty continues to champion women’s sexual health, ensuring that every woman has the resources and support she needs to live a healthy, fulfilled life. Join us in our mission to create lasting change in women's sexual health. Together, we can make a profound difference, ensuring that every woman is healthy, happy, and empowered today and every day.

Patty is committed to fighting to remove the shame associated with asking questions about sexual health and to raise the resources and awareness needed to ensure that women’s sexual health is equitable to that of men’s sexual health.

Personal Connections

Patty’s dedication to this mission is, and always has been, deeply personal. Recently, she sought relief for one of her granddaughters, who had seen over 11 physicians and other medical professionals since she was 14 without finding a solution. This journey was confusing, disheartening and embarrassing, as it is for so many women.

At a recent conference where Patty spoke in front of 500 gynecological surgeons, she asked a poignant question: who could help her granddaughter? Finally, her granddaughter, a 20-year-old student, was connected with the right team of medical professionals and received a plan to manage her endometriosis. Patty vividly recalls seeing tears in her typically stoic granddaughter's eyes, who finally felt heard and supported.

We all deserve to be heard by our treatment teams. It should not be rare to feel heard and supported in your doctor’s office. This experience reignited Patty’s passion to advance the cause of women's sexual health. If it took nearly a decade for her and her granddaughter, who have access to resources, to find a solution, what must it be like for those without access?

Patty Brisben

Founder & Chairwoman

In 2005, Patty founded the Patty Brisben Foundation for Women’s Sexual Health - now the She+ Foundation, after recognizing the need for safe spaces for women to ask questions about their sexual health, and seeing first hand the plight of the gender gap in sexual health research.

Patty has given women space and community to speak and learn freely. When women suffer in silence, they are led to believe they are alone. But, in reality, so many women are going through experiences just like you.The She+ Foundation aims to build a community that connects the right resources, provides peer support, and fosters a sense of belonging.
