Expansion of Women's Sexual Health Services and Education Offered to Women in South Africa

Based on the high number of women in South Africa being diagnosed with cancer of the cervix, Topsy is looking to increase the services provided through their cervical cancer screening program which includes screening of women via pap smears and colposcopic cervical biopsies. Serving rural and impoverished communities, there is an absence of knowledge about the disease, as well as geographic and economic inaccessibility of services and poor quality of services.

Topsy intends to expand its current services in women’s sexual health education by offering the following through home based visits by community health care workers – cervical cancer awareness, breast cancer awareness, HIV/AIDS prevention of transmission, awareness of women and child abuse and education in sexually transmitted diseases.
